SSI Scuba Skills Update (Refresher Course)

The Scuba Skills Update is a refresher program designed for certified divers who haven’t been diving in a while. Whether it’s been six months or several years since your last dive, this course helps you review and practice essential diving skills to regain comfort, confidence, and safety in the water.

Any certified diver who feels a little rusty or hasn’t been in the water recently should consider a Scuba Skills Update. It’s perfect for those preparing for a dive trip or looking to continue their dive education after time away from diving.

The course typically takes half a day, including a theory review and at least one confined water session (pool). Additional time can be arranged if needed, especially for divers who want to rebuild specific skills.

You’ll review all fundamental scuba skills, including buoyancy control, mask clearing, regulator recovery, emergency procedures, and more. We also focus on DIR configuration, giving you a chance to familiarize yourself with streamlined gear and team diving techniques.

Private One-on-One Class:
This is the most personalized experience you can have. You’ll work directly with an instructor at your own pace, getting undivided attention and tailored coaching to focus on specific skills or areas where you want to excel. Group Class:
In a group setting, you’ll train alongside other students, working as a team and learning together. It’s a more social environment and a great way to meet fellow divers. Class sizes are kept intentionally small at XR Explorers to ensure quality instruction and individual feedback, even in a group setting.

Private classes offer the most customized learning experience, while group classes provide a collaborative environment at a lower cost. Both give you premium DIR training, but your choice depends on the experience you want.
