There’s a big difference between following your guide and leading the way yourself. The SSI Navigation Diver Course gives you the skills and confidence to do just that, eliminating the anxiety of wondering "where are we?"

At XR Explorers, we don’t just hand you a compass and call it a day. We teach you Total Navigation: combining precise instrument work with natural references to build a 3D mental map of the dive site.

What You Will Learn

Taught under our strict DIR (Doing It Right) philosophy, you will learn to navigate efficiently without compromising your horizontal trim or situational awareness. To ensure you stay sharp and focused during task-loading, all your training dives will be conducted using Nitrox 32% gas at no additional charge, and boat access is fully covered.

• Compass Mastery: How to accurately set headings, navigate reciprocals (out and back), and swim complex square and triangle patterns.
• Natural Navigation: Reading the terrain, sand ripples, water movement, and light/shadows to find your way without constantly looking at a gauge.
• Distance Estimation: Timing your kick cycles and monitoring gas consumption to know exactly how far you have traveled.
• Team Awareness: Navigating while keeping track of your buddy and your overall gas supply.

Regional Training (GCC-Wide)

Navigation is critical in the Arabian Gulf, where visibility can sometimes be limited and dive sites look identical in every direction. We teach these vital skills in Kuwait & UAE, but we also run workshops for divers in Saudi Arabia (KSA), Dubai, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman to help them master their local waters.
