The SSI XR Foundations course is the most recommended class at XR Explorers. It is the essential first step toward technical diving and the ultimate polisher for recreational excellence.

This course is not about going deep; it is about becoming perfect in the shallows. Designed for divers who demand more from themselves, this rigorous workshop builds rock-solid buoyancy, precise horizontal trim, efficient propulsion (frog kick/back kick), and exceptional team awareness.

Who Is This For?

  • Aspiring Tech Divers: This is the prerequisite "boot camp" before you can touch Trimix or Cave training.
  • Photographers: Gain the stability needed to take sharp macro shots without silting the bottom.
  • Professionals: Future Divemasters and Instructors who want to lead by example.
  • Serious Recreational Divers: Anyone who wants to lower their air consumption and dive with absolute confidence.

Configuration Options & The DIR Standard

You will be trained using the DIR (Doing It Right) system. Furthermore, to maximize your safety and physiology, all your course dives will be conducted using Nitrox 32% gas at no additional charge, and all boat/pool fees are fully covered.

You can take this course in:

  • Twinset / Doubles: (Our highly recommended go-to configuration for tech prep).
  • Single Tank: For recreational divers wanting to perfect their basic kit.
  • Sidemount: Note: You must already hold a Sidemount Certification to take XR Foundations in this configuration.
