Diving is one of the most rewarding activities in the world, but the ocean demands respect. The SSI Diver Stress & Rescue Course is the turning point in your diving journey where you stop focusing only on yourself and start seeing the "big picture" of dive safety and team awareness.

At XR Explorers, we believe that every diver should be trained in rescue techniques. This course goes far beyond basic skills—it teaches you situational awareness, rapid problem-solving, and the ability to stay calm when things go wrong.

What You Will Learn

This course is hands-on and heavily scenario-based. We don't just talk about theory; we put you in realistic simulations (under controlled safety) to test your responses.

  • Self-Rescue: How to handle cramping, exhaustion, and equipment issues without panicking.
  • Recognizing Stress: Identifying the "wild eyes" or rapid breathing in a buddy before they bolt for the surface.
  • The Rescue: Managing panicked divers, surfacing an unresponsive diver safely, and performing in-water rescue breathing while towing.
  • Surface Management: Coordinating with the boat or shore team and administering First Aid/CPR.

The XR Explorers Approach: DIR & Reality Training

We train for reality. You will learn to perform rescues using standard DIR (Doing It Right) equipment configurations, ensuring you manage emergencies without the clutter of inefficient gear. Please note that equipment rental is not included; you must bring your own DIR-compliant setup.

To maximize your safety and mental clarity during these demanding physical scenarios, all your training dives will be conducted using Nitrox 32% gas at no additional charge, with all boat and pool access fees completely covered.

Our instructors focus heavily on Emergency Management—taking charge of a chaotic scene. Whether it is an entangled diver or a missing buddy search, you will learn to lead the response effectively.

Rescue Team Bonus: 10% Cashback!

Rescue skills are built on trust and teamwork. We highly encourage taking this course with your regular dive buddy. When you enroll together, both of you will receive a 10% cashback bonus on your tuition.
