GUE Technical Fundamentals

• Duration: 4 Days (Over 32 hours of in-depth training)
• Dives: Minimum 8 dives encompassing in-water work
• Depth Limit: 30 meters (100 feet)
• Configuration: Double Tanks ONLY
• Class Size: Minimum 2 to conduct the class (Maximum 3)
• Gas Protocol: Dives conducted using Nitrox 32%

Prerequisites are strictly enforced by GUE to ensure your success and safety.

• Age & Health: Minimum 16 years old. Must be physically and mentally fit, and must be a non-smoker. A physician’s clearance is required if on prescription meds (excluding birth control) or with any condition that poses a risk.
• Swim Test: Must be able to swim 300 yards (275m) in under 14 minutes, and swim 50 ft (15m) underwater on a breath hold.
• Certification: Certified to dive to 30m / 100 ft (or holding a GUE Deep Primer certification).
• General Experience: Minimum 75 non-training dives. At least 25 of these must be deeper than 21m / 70 ft.
• Doubles Experience: Minimum 25 non-training dives in a double tank configuration OR 15 non-training dives utilizing doubles following a GUE Doubles Primer certification.
• Drysuit Experience (If Applicable): If using a drysuit, you must have 15 non-training dives in a drysuit OR 10 non-training dives following a GUE Drysuit Primer.

❌ Exclusions (Please Read Carefully):

• GUE Registration Fee: A $95 fee must be paid directly to the GUE website upon course registration. This covers your official GUE course materials and certification processing.
• Equipment NOT Included: DIR gear rentals are excluded. Divers must own and bring their own fully GUE-compliant equipment configuration. Gear rentals are available at additional charge.
