Transition from Recreational to Technical Diving
Ready to take your diving skills to the next level? The TDI Intro to Tech course introduces students to the world of technical diving. This course is strictly a no-decompression course; students are permitted to use enriched air nitrox (EAN) mixes, provided the gas mix is within their current level of certification. During the program, you will master vital dive planning concepts, including surface air consumption (SAC) rate calculations. You will also learn minimum gas reserve calculations for no-decompression dives.

Technical diving demands perfection and discipline. We teach this course using the DIR (Doing It Right) philosophy and premium Backplate & Wing systems. You will demonstrate no-silting propulsion techniques: frog kick, modified frog kick, modified flutter kick, backwards kick. You will also demonstrate the ability to perform a safety drill (S-drill) while maintaining trim and buoyancy in the water column. Furthermore, you will demonstrate the ability to deploy a surface marker buoy or lift bag while maintaining trim and buoyancy in the water column. To support your learning, all your course dives will be conducted using Nitrox 32% gas at no additional charge, ensuring a safer physiological profile while you practice task-loading skills.
