SSI Open Water Diver – Premium DIR Training (18m)

The Open Water Diver Course is your first step into the underwater world! It’s designed to teach you the essential skills, safety procedures, and knowledge needed to dive independently with a buddy. Upon completion, you’ll earn an internationally recognized certification, allowing you to dive anywhere in the world up to 18 meters (60 feet).

We’re the only dive school in Kuwait teaching exclusively in DIR. You’ll be trained by experienced instructors who are also deep technical divers and cave explorers, using high-end, professional gear. Our training focuses on skill mastery, safety, and teamwork, not just ticking boxes for certification.

The course typically takes 4 to 5 days, with flexible scheduling available if you choose our private one-on-one experience.

You must be at least 10 years old to enroll in the Open Water Diver Course. However, students under 15 years old will receive a Junior Open Water Diver certification, which can be upgraded to a full certification at age 15.

You’ll be using premium, high-end equipment that follows the DIR configuration. All gear is provided for the course, and we use the same equipment that our instructors trust on their deepest and most challenging dives.

At XR Explorers, both private and group classes follow the same high training standards and DIR system, but there are key differences in experience and focus:

Private One-on-One Class:
This is the most personalized experience you can have. You’ll work directly with an instructor at your own pace, getting undivided attention and tailored coaching to focus on specific skills or areas where you want to excel. It’s ideal if you prefer a flexible schedule, want to progress faster, or value a private learning environment.
Many divers choose one-on-one training to maximize their skills, build confidence, or because they want to learn in an environment with no distractions.

Group Class:
In a group setting, you’ll train alongside other students, working as a team and learning together. It’s a more social environment and a great way to meet fellow divers. Class sizes are kept intentionally small at XR Explorers to ensure quality instruction and individual feedback, even in a group setting.

Private classes offer the most customized learning experience, while group classes provide a collaborative environment at a lower cost. Both give you premium DIR training, but your choice depends on the experience you want.

Most dive centers allow up to 8 students per class. We keep our classes intentionally small (up to 3 students) to provide maximum in-water time, focused personal attention, and a customized learning experience.
