Buoyancy is the undeniable foundation of great diving. Whether you want to improve your air consumption, glide effortlessly over delicate reefs, or hover motionless for a photograph, mastering your buoyancy transforms the way you dive.

The SSI Perfect Buoyancy Course at XR Explorers is designed to refine your trim, breathing techniques, and movement efficiency for a smoother, far more controlled experience underwater.

The XR Explorers Difference: DIR Workshop

We take buoyancy training to the next level by offering this course explicitly as a DIR (Doing It Right) configuration workshop. Instead of a standard recreational class, we treat this as a technical clinic. You can use this course to learn the fundamentals of DIR diving (specifically the Backplate & Wing setup) while mastering the essential skills. To help you focus entirely on your body positioning and task-loading, all your training dives will be conducted using Nitrox 32% gas at no additional charge, and pool/boat fees are fully covered.

  • Precision Weighting: Finding your exact weight requirement (most divers are dangerously overweighted!).
  • Trim: Achieving and maintaining a perfect, streamlined horizontal position.
  • Propulsion: Introduction to advanced, anti-silt finning techniques (Frog Kick, Helicopter Turn, Back Kick).
  • Breathing: Using your lungs for fine-tune depth control rather than relying on your inflator hose.
