Your First Real Dive.
At XR Explorers, we believe diving isn’t just a sport—it’s a gateway to a whole new world. The SSI Basic Diver course is designed for those who want to experience the thrill of the ocean without committing to a multi-day certification course just yet.
Unlike standard "Try Scuba" programs (which often stay in very shallow water), the Basic Diver course takes you on a real adventure. Under the direct guidance of our expert instructors, you will learn the fundamentals and then head out for an actual Open Water Dive to 12 meters (40 feet).
The XR Explorers Difference: Start with DIR
Even for your very first breath underwater, we do not compromise on quality. You will train using the DIR (Doing It Right) system, wearing premium Backplate & Wing equipment instead of bulky rental jackets. To maximize your safety and comfort, your dive will be conducted using Nitrox 32% gas at no extra charge, and we have made this package completely all-inclusive by covering all boat and pool access fees.
What You Will Learn

Academic Session: An interactive briefing where you will understand the basics of diving physics, safety procedures, and how your equipment works.

Confined Water Training: You will jump into a controlled environment (pool or shallow bay) to practice essential safety skills and get comfortable with your buoyancy.

The Open Water Dive: This is the highlight. You will descend from our dive boat to a maximum of 12 meters to explore the marine life and feel the true sensation of weightlessness.
Team Diving Bonus: 10% Cashback!
At the core of the DIR philosophy is the concept of team diving. To promote experiencing the ocean with a trusted partner, we offer a 10% cashback bonus on your course tuition when you bring a buddy—whether it's a family member or a friend. This cashback is credited to your XR Explorers account and can be used toward your full Open Water upgrade or purchasing premium diving equipment.

The Upgrade Path
The best part? If you fall in love with diving (and we know you will!), your Basic Diver experience counts as credit towards your full SSI Open Water Diver certification. The recognition is valid for six months, giving you a massive head start on your journey to becoming a fully certified independent diver.
