The SSI Extended Range Trimix Diver Course at XR Explorers is where advanced divers become true technical divers. This program is designed for those who are serious about expanding their depth limits but refuse to compromise on safety or mental clarity.

Why Trimix?

At 40+ meters, nitrogen narcosis clouds your judgment. By introducing Helium into your breathing gas (Normoxic Trimix), we minimize narcosis and gas density issues. This allows you to plan and execute dives to 45 meters (145 feet) with the exact same mental sharpness you have at the surface.

The XR Explorers Standard: DIR Discipline & Control

This course is taught exclusively using a DIR (Doing It Right) Backmount Twinset with Stage Cylinder configuration. We ensure you are equipped with the most streamlined and efficient setup for real-world technical diving.

This course is about far more than depth and bottom time. It involves high-stakes training where we heavily refine:

  • Gas Switching: Precise execution of switching to 50% Oxygen for accelerated decompression.
  • Emergency Management: Handling valve failures, lost deco gas, and out-of-gas scenarios while maintaining team cohesion.
  • Decompression: Managing up to 25 minutes of accumulated decompression obligations.

⚠️ Mandatory Pre-Course Check Dive

Technical diving requires absolute precision. To ensure your success and safety, a mandatory Check Dive is required before enrollment to verify your fundamental skills.

Waiver Exception: If you have completed the SSI Extended Range Foundations or any GUE class with XR Explorers, we already know the caliber of your skills. The check dive is automatically waived for you!
