Taught strictly using Nitrox in a DIR configuration, this 3-day program teaches you to safely dive beyond the No-Decompression Limit (NDL) with up to 15 minutes of staged decompression. Please note: Stage cylinders and gases are included, but personal DIR equipment and stage regulators are not.

Sometimes, a dive site is just too good to leave early. That’s where the SSI Decompression Diver Course comes in. For the first time in your diving life, you will learn to safely dive beyond the No-Decompression Limit (NDL), allowing you to extend your bottom time on deeper wrecks and reefs.

The Bridge to Technical Diving

At XR Explorers, we treat this course as the official "Bridge" between recreational and technical diving. You aren't just adding time to your computer; you are learning an entirely new mindset.

  • Precision: We teach you to hold decompression stops like a pro—buoyancy must be exact.
  • Gas Planning: Learn "Rock Bottom" gas management to ensure you always have enough air to complete your stops, even in a catastrophic emergency.
  • Ascent Strategies: Controlling your ascent rate with strict, unyielding discipline.

The XR Explorers Difference: DIR Focus

We take this course to the next level by teaching it strictly in a DIR (Doing It Right) configuration using Nitrox. You will learn streamlined equipment setup (principles of Twinset or technical Sidemount) and advanced team communication protocols.

If you are thinking about stepping into the full Extended Range (XR) program later, this is the perfect place to build those solid, technical foundations without the intense pressure of a full tech course. Please note that while stage cylinders and Nitrox gases are provided, you must bring or rent your own DIR equipment and stage regulator.
