While other entry-level courses rush you through basic skills, the GUE Recreational Diver 1 course is a true masterclass. It builds your foundational diving platform based entirely on neutral buoyancy and horizontal trim. A GUE Open Water Diver certification means you are trusted to dive with your team without the supervision of a dive professional to a maximum depth of 21 meters (70 ft). It is the only beginner course in the world to certify you to this depth, reflecting the unmatched quality of GUE training.

Who Is It For & What Makes It Different?

  • Time & Intensity: This is a 7-day intensive program (40+ hours). We do not rush excellence. You will complete 10 Confined Water Sessions and 6 Open Water Dives.
  • Nitrox Standard: You don't pay extra for Enriched Air. You learn to dive with, analyze, and get certified in Nitrox 32% from day one, significantly increasing your safety margins and bottom time.
  • Platform of Stability: You will learn to hover motionless. No hand-flailing, no silt-kicking. You will look and move like a professional diver by the end of the week.

What You Will Master

  • Propulsion: Frog kick, modified flutter, and the famous Backward Kick (swimming in reverse).
  • Gas Management & Navigation: Precise gas calculations, "Minimum Gas" reserves, and the practical use of an underwater compass for basic navigation.
  • Rescue: The GUE "Basic 5" rescue skills, handled with calm, practiced precision.
