A Certification Earned, Not Bought.

Diving is unlike any other activity on Earth. It allows you to enter a hostile environment and make it your home. But to truly enjoy the underwater world—from shallow reefs to historic wrecks—you need more than just a certification card. You need competence.

The Open Water Diver ( GUE Recreational Diver 1 ) course is widely regarded as the most comprehensive and rigorous entry-level scuba class in the world. While other courses rush you through skills on your knees, GUE builds your foundation in neutral buoyancy and horizontal trim from the very first minute.

The XR Explorers Exclusive

We are the only facility in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain authorized to teach this program.

When you choose GUE Rec 1 at XR Explorers, you are joining a global community of elite divers. This course is the gateway to GUE’s legendary exploration projects, cave diving, and technical diving initiatives.

What Makes This Course Different?

  • Time: This is a 5-6 day intensive program (40+ hours). We do not rush excellence.

  • Nitrox Standard: You don't pay extra for Enriched Air. You learn to dive with Nitrox 32% from day one, increasing your safety margins and bottom time.

  • Platform of Stability: You will learn to hover motionless. No hand-flailing, no silt-kicking. You will look like a professional diver by the end of the week.

  • Team Mindset: You are never just "following a guide." You are a thinking member of a unified team.

Course Intensity This course is physically and mentally demanding. It includes 10 Confined Water Sessions and 6 Open Water Dives. You will master:

  • Propulsion: Frog kick, modified flutter, and the famous Back Kick (swimming backward).

  • Gas Management: Precise calculations and "Minimum Gas" reserves.

  • Rescue: The GUE "Basic 5" rescue skills, handled with calm precision.

Prerequisites (Strictly Enforced) GUE standards are non-negotiable. To enroll, you must:

  • Be a Non-Smoker: Smoking is incompatible with GUE training.

  • Swim Test: Swim 300 yards (275m) in under 14 minutes & swim 50 ft (15m) underwater on a breath hold.
