Dive Smarter from Any Boat.

Boat diving opens the door to some of the best dive sites in the world. But it’s not as simple as jumping in and swimming off—you need to know the right procedures to make it smooth, safe, and stress-free.

At XR Explorers, we teach you how to dive confidently from any kind of vessel, whether it’s a small RIB (Zodiac), a fast day boat, or a luxury liveaboard.

The XR Explorers Standard: Be Organized

A chaotic diver is a dangerous diver. In line with our DIR (Doing It Right) philosophy, we focus heavily on deck etiquette, streamlining your gear, and overall efficiency. To maximize your safety and bottom time, both of your training dives will be conducted using Nitrox 32% gas at no additional charge, and your boat charter fees are fully covered.

  • Gear Management: How to stow your equipment compactly so you aren't "that diver" taking up everyone's space.
  • Timing: Being fully equipped and ready to splash the exact second the captain gives the signal.
  • Entries & Exits: Mastering the Back Roll (for RIBs) and Giant Stride (for larger boats), plus safely handing up gear during rough water exits.

What You Will Learn

  • Surface Safety: Using surface lines, deploying SMBs (Surface Marker Buoys), and managing currents while waiting for boat pickup.
  • Vessel Terminology: Understanding the captain's briefings, boat layouts, and vessel safety protocols.
  • Transition: Making the mental and logistical shift from shore diving to boat diving.
