The Gateway to Pro & Tech (DIR Foundation)

At XR Explorers, we consider a deep understanding of diving science to be the intellectual foundation of the DIR (Doing It Right) philosophy. You cannot "Do It Right" if you don't know why you are doing it. This is the most important academic course in the SSI system because it is the Gateway to Advanced Levels:

• Divemaster Prerequisite: You cannot become an SSI Dive Professional without this mandatory certification.
• Tech Foundation: If you plan to dive Extended Range, Trimix, or Closed Circuit Rebreathers (CCR) later, you need a rock-solid grasp of the physics and physiology taught here.

What You Will Learn

This is a 100% Dry Course (no wet dives are required). We cover five incredibly detailed modules:

1. Physics: Gas laws, buoyancy, heat transfer, and light/sound behavior underwater.
2. Physiology: How the human body reacts to pressure, nitrogen absorption, and how to prevent diving injuries.
3. Decompression Theory: The science of bubbles, dive tables, and computer algorithms (Bühlmann, RGBM).
4. Equipment: How your gear works mechanically (first stages, second stages, cylinders).
5. The Aquatic World: Understanding tides, currents, waves, and delicate marine ecosystems.

Flexible Regional Learning (GCC-Wide)

Because this is a "Dry Course," it is perfect for escaping the summer heat or winter chill. You can complete the digital learning at your own pace from the comfort of your home. We host interactive review sessions with our expert instructors online (via Zoom) or in our physical classrooms in Kuwait and UAE, making this accessible to divers across Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.
