SSI Drysuit Diving Specialty – Stay Warm & Dry

Drysuit diving keeps you warm, dry, and comfortable underwater—even in colder water temperatures. It extends your diving season, expands your dive locations, and significantly enhances your underwater comfort and safety.

Drysuits require regular care and maintenance. During your training, you’ll learn proper storage, cleaning, zipper maintenance, and minor repairs to keep your drysuit reliable and ready for diving.

Drysuits do require adjustments to buoyancy control. Your XR Explorers instructor will thoroughly train you on buoyancy management techniques specific to drysuits, including managing the suit’s air volume and trim control.

Absolutely. Drysuits are highly recommended for technical diving, as longer, deeper dives often involve colder temperatures and increased decompression times. This course provides an excellent foundation if you're considering technical diving.

Not necessarily. Drysuit diving enhances comfort even in moderate water temperatures, especially during longer dives or repetitive dive days, greatly reducing fatigue and heat loss.

Private One-on-One Class:
This is the most personalized experience you can have. You’ll work directly with an instructor at your own pace, getting undivided attention and tailored coaching to focus on specific skills or areas where you want to excel. It’s ideal if you prefer a flexible schedule, want to progress faster, or value a private learning environment.
Many divers choose one-on-one training to maximize their skills, build confidence, or because they want to learn in an environment with no distractions.

Group Class:
In a group setting, you’ll train alongside other students, working as a team and learning together. It’s a more social environment and a great way to meet fellow divers. Class sizes are kept intentionally small at XR Explorers to ensure quality instruction and individual feedback, even in a group setting.

Private classes offer the most customized learning experience, while group classes provide a collaborative environment at a lower cost. Both give you premium DIR training, but your choice depends on the experience you want.
