Course Description

Confidence Through Competence.

Scuba diving is a safe outdoor activity with low accident rates, but as with all activities, participants should be prepared to handle emergencies and perform rescues to assist team members. When things go wrong, the quality of your training determines the outcome.

The GUE Rescue Primer is not just about learning how to tow a tired diver; it is about developing the mental and physical capacity to manage complex emergencies while maintaining the high standards, buoyancy, and trim of a GUE diver. The awareness of your ability to prevent or handle stressful situations underwater is one of the most meaningful skills you will ever learn, making every dive safer and more enjoyable.

The XR Explorers Exclusive & Who Is It For?

We are the only facility in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain authorized to teach this program. This course should be high on every diver’s to-do list, and it is highly recommended for anyone planning to pursue diving at any advanced level—especially GUE Tech or Cave training, where self-sufficiency and team reliance are absolutely paramount.

The "Navigation" Connection

You cannot find a lost diver if you don't know where you are. This course requires a high level of navigational competence. It is strongly recommended (and effectively required) to complete the GUE Navigation Primer before attempting the Rescue Primer, as executing search patterns requires subconscious proficiency with a compass and spool.

What You Will Learn

  • Unconscious Diver Recovery: Bringing an unresponsive diver from depth to the surface safely, while flawlessly managing ascent rates, buoyancy, and airways.
  • Missing Diver Protocols: Using your navigation skills to execute effective underwater search patterns using spools and guidelines.
  • Surface Management: Handling a panicked or distressed diver on the surface, and managing the overall scene of a diving emergency until professional help arrives.
  • DCI Management: Diving-specific Basic Life Support (BLS) skills for handling suspected Decompression Illness.
