Course details

Venturing into more advanced underwater environments requires two things: increased gas volume and equipment redundancy. To safely extend your range, you must master the Double Tank (Twinset) configuration.

However, strapping on two tanks changes your center of gravity and buoyancy characteristics. The GUE Doubles Primer is designed to bridge the gap, teaching you how to dive a twinset safely, comfortably, and with the precision GUE is famous for.

The XR Explorers Exclusive

We are the only facility in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain authorized to teach this program. Many divers try to teach themselves doubles and develop dangerous habits. At XR Explorers, we fast-track your learning curve by teaching you the correct protocols from Day One.

What You Will Learn This course is highly recommended for anyone intending to take GUE Fundamentals or aiming for technical diving in the future.

  • The Configuration: Demystifying manifolds, bands, and the specific GUE hose routing system (long hose/backup).

  • Valve Management: You will learn the famous GUE Valve Drill—the ability to shut down and isolate a failed regulator or post while maintaining neutral buoyancy and team contact.

  • Stability: How to manage the heavier rig while keeping perfect horizontal trim.

Program Structure The Doubles Primer is conducted over one intensive day (minimum 8 hours).

  • Academic & Land Drills: Manifold failure logic, gas analysis, and practicing the valve drill on land until it is muscle memory.

  • In-Water Training: Two dives focused on stability, propulsion, and executing valve drills while hovering.

Prerequisites (Strictly Enforced)

  • Certification: Must hold an autonomous entry-level scuba certification (Open Water or equivalent).

  • Age: Minimum 16 Years.

  • Health: Physically and mentally fit. Must be a Non-Smoker.

  • Swimming: Competent swimming ability required.

  • Note: If using a drysuit, prior drysuit experience is required.
