WHO WE ARE

XR Explorers was founded by Yehia and Greta—a passionate diving couple who share a deep appreciation for underwater exploration, education, and visual storytelling. With a strong foundation in GUE and DIR principles, we specialize in high quality scuba training, premium equipment sales, and professional underwater filmmaking.

At XR Explorers, we believe that diving is not just about going underwater—it’s about mastering skills, embracing challenges, and exploring the unknown with precision and respect. Join us in redefining the diving experience!

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to inspire and educate divers by providing high-level training, premium equipment that you can trust, and high quality underwater documentary filmmaking. We believe in a structured and skills-focused approach to diving that emphasizes safety, precision, and continuous learning. Through our courses, educational content, and documentaries, we aim to raise awareness about the beauty and challenges of the underwater world.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to build a community of well trained, knowledgeable, and responsible divers who not only explore but also protect our underwater environments. We actively engage in conservation projects, cave mapping initiatives, and scientific diving efforts that contribute to a better understanding of underwater ecosystems. Through these projects, we promote sustainable diving practices, environmental awareness, and the documentation of unique underwater sites.

YEHIA AHMED

My journey into diving began in 2017, driven not just by the adventure but by the need to understand the mechanics behind it. I wasn’t satisfied with simply exploring the underwater world—I wanted to master it, push its limits, and fully grasp the technology that makes it possible. That drive led me to become a GUE diver, earning certifications in CCR 2, Tech 1, and Cave 1, as well as an SSI Trimix Instructor. My main focus is deep technical and CCR diving, where precision, skill, and knowledge make all the difference.

At XR.Explorers, I am the technical backbone. Whether it’s a rebreather, a camera system, or any piece of dive gear, I need to understand it inside and out. My attention to detail and commitment to mastering technology ensure that every dive, every setup, and every lesson is executed with precision and safety. Teaching is a big part of what I do, and it’s something I genuinely enjoy—helping divers refine their skills and develop confidence in the water is incredibly rewarding.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll often find me helping Greta with filming. While she focuses on the creative vision, I often handle the technical side, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. That's how we balance each other at XR Explorers.

GRETA VON FREIWALD

My fascination with diving began years ago when I realized that exploring the land was not enough. I didn’t take my Open Water course right away but instead waited for the right opportunity—one that never came. Eventually, I decided to create the opportunity myself. It wasn’t the perfect one I had dreamed of, but it worked out.

Fast forward, and my dreams became wilder and "darker"—leading me all the way into caves! That’s what truly made my heart beat (sometimes literally!). I joined GUE and became a Full Cave Diver, Technical Diver, and CCR Diver. But beyond that, I also found my passion for short documentary filmmaking and cinematography, backed up by my Master’s degree in Arts and my experience as an art and video director across multiple countries. I am a creative and visually driven person with a strong sense of aesthetics, atmosphere, and storytelling—skills that I complement with marketing and social media expertise. I am the person behind our social media.

My better half, Yehia, is everything I am not—the technical mastermind behind every operation. That’s how we complement each other at XR.Explorers.
